Antioxidant activity and flavonoid content of Clusia fluminensis Planch. & Triana.
Clusia fluminensis Planch. & Triana (Clusiaceae Lindl.) is a native species found in regions of high luminosity and water restriction. The aim of this study was to evaluate the antioxidant activity of Clusia fluminensis crude extracts through the scavenging of the stable free radical DPPH, and the determination of flavones and flavonols content in these extracts. The fruit acetonic extract show...
متن کاملCharacterisation of Mediterranean grape pomace seed and skin extracts: polyphenolic content and antioxidant activity.
Grape pomace seeds and skins from different Mediterranean varieties (Grenache [GRE], Syrah [SYR], Carignan [CAR], Mourvèdre [MOU] and Alicante [ALI]) were extracted using water and water/ethanol 70% in order to develop edible extracts (an aqueous extract [EAQ] and a 70% hydro-alcoholic extract [EA70]) for potential use in nutraceutical or cosmetic formulations. In this study, global content (to...
متن کاملAnticancer Activity, Antioxidant Activity, and Phenolic and Flavonoids Content of Wild Tragopogon porrifolius Plant Extracts
Tragopogon porrifolius, commonly referred to as white salsify, is an edible herb used in folk medicine to treat cancer. Samples of Tragopogon porrifolius plant grown wild in Palestine were extracted with different solvents: water, 80% ethanol, and 100% ethanol. The extracts were analyzed for their total phenolic content (TPC), total flavonoid content (TFC), and antioxidant activity (AA). Four d...

متن کاملPhytochemical and Pharmacological Evaluation of Ampelocissus Latifolia
Phytochemical screening and physico chemical standards of acetone, chloroform and alcoholic extracts of Ampelocissus latifolia have been performed. These extracts were found to be safe upto a maximum dose of 500 mg/kg. They exhibit significant anti-inflammatory activity that may be due to its inhibitory effect of histamine kinin and prostaglandins release.
